Edible Art Fantasia

Supporting the Society for Treatment of Autism, held Thursday October 9th, 2003

The evening showcased the talents of 4 of Calgary's TOP Chef's. These chef's were given a pre-chosen ingredient list to create a dish and win the bragging rights of "The Edible Chef 2003". There was a palette full of food; wines, spirits and beers to sample and an artist unveiling of the use of cuisine in fashion. Live entertainment was provided by the Real Deal and the bodies were swaying to the beat.

Edible Art Fantasia was created to support Autism, which is a neurological disorder that affects the functioning of the brain. People with Autism and its Spectrums have serious problems with communication, social interaction and behavior, making it difficult for them to understand and participate in the world around them. The causes are still unknown and there is no cure! There are over 105,000 Canadians living with autism and it's spectrums. Nearly One in Three Hundred children are affected with Autism disorders. What was once viewed as a rare disorder is now one of the most common neurological disorders affecting children.
